Mary-Louise Parker may look cute as a button in prison garb and nerd glasses, but Nancy Botwin is about to go from big house to Big Apple when Weeds’ seventh season takes the Botwin Family to the glamour of New York City.

And according to Showtime’s press release, New York isn’t the only change in store, and spoilers be warned.  Season Six of Weeds ended with Nancy turning herself in for the murder of Pilar Zuazo, which season seven certainly doesn’t ignore, picking up a full three years later upon Nancy’s parole from prison!  Of course, the Feds wouldn’t simply let Nancy loose in the Big Apple, as our favorite dealer must first complete her probation in a strictly monitored halfway house while her boys head for NYC with Doug (Kevin Nealon) in tow.

But that’s not all!  Season seven will also introduce several new recurring guest stars, including comedian Martin Short as Nancy’s eccentric lawyer, and Aiden Quinn (Prime Suspect) as “a charismatic investment firm CEO.”  Jennifer Jason Leigh will also reprise her role as Nancy Botwin’s sister for at least one episode.  

Filming is currently under way in Los Angeles (damn you, fake set dressing!), while Weeds’ seventh season will premiere Monday, June 27th at 10p ET/PT.
